Requirements: We need experience in defence, national security, or a similarly regulated environment.We need a background in a consulting or client-facing engineering role.We need strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, and containers.We need practical experience with AI systems, including LLM behavior and architectures.We need experience with evaluation techniques and failure mode analysis.We need experience with RAG and applied AI system design.We need a strong understanding of AI limitations and appropriate use cases.We need excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.We need eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance. Responsibilities: We design, build, and deploy AI-enabled systems in defence and other highly regulated environments.We take AI systems into production with a focus on robustness and security.We integrate AI components, including LLMs, into production applications and workflows.We design and implement RAG systems.We evaluate LLM behavior, identify failure modes, and implement mitigation strategies.We test and debug non-deterministic AI systems in production.We make pragmatic decisions on when to use AI versus deterministic or statistical approaches.We work with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, version control, and automated testing practices.We embed AI-assisted development tools while maintaining strong standards of security, correctness, and oversight.
