Salary: £30,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements: We require proven leadership of software engineering teams building distributed systems and microservices in agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.We require hands-on AI development experience using modern tools and IDEs and familiarity with integrating AI into products.We require strong expertise in Java, preferably Spring, and architectural patterns for scalable, observable, and testable systems.We require proficiency in modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, test-driven development, and a DevOps culture.We require hands-on experience with containers such as Docker and private cloud infrastructure.We require familiarity with service telemetry tools such as Splunk and AppDynamics.We require a track record of talent development including hiring, coaching, performance management, and building collaborative, learning-focused teams.We require the ability to understand the business domain and translate product strategy into architecture and delivery plans.We prefer experience in the Corporate Actions domain.We prefer experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Angular in full-stack development contexts.We prefer expertise in Spring Framework, software architecture, and API/platform design.We prefer background in financial services, risk and controls, and regulated environments. Responsibilities: We lead and develop inclusive, high-performing engineering teams.We set clear objectives, coach talent, and build succession plans.We represent engineering in program reviews and governance forums.We own end-to-end delivery of mission-critical software from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and reliability.We ensure compliance and operational excellence across the software lifecycle.We raise engineering excellence and resilience by enforcing best practices and automation across code, testing, microservices, APIs, performance, and infrastructure.We champion secure-by-design practices including secure coding, logging and monitoring, incident playbooks, and disaster recovery.We partner with product, design, and operations to turn outcomes into measurable technical plans.We steer architecture modernization and integrations aligned to our principles and pillars.We work in agile environments tailored for flow and outcomes.We own the full product lifecycle by building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and iterating on solutions.We share knowledge and maintain a growth mindset through continuous learning.
