About FLC: At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel, portals and ramps on both ends of the tunnel, in Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden. We are also building the facilities for prefabricating tunnel elements as well as accommodation facilities, also known as the “Tunnel village" in Rødbyhavn, which provides housing for FLC workers. About the department: The FLC Survey Department plays a key role in supporting the construction of this immersed tunnel project. The marine survey team delivers positioning, navigation, monitoring, and hydrographic survey services for offshore construction activities using advanced technologies such as multibeam echo sounders, Inertial Navigation systems, LBL and USBL systems, Fibre Optic Gyroscopes and many more. Together with over 60 hydrographic and topographic survey professionals from more than 15 countries, the department ensures accurate survey data for all project phases. The topographic survey teams support construction through stake-out, control, and as-built surveys, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including Total Stations, GNSS, drones, laser scanners, and specialist software for planning, execution, and data processing. As part of this multidisciplinary department, the Technical Surveyor contributes to the successful delivery of marine operations by maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and configuring critical survey systems. The role ensures the reliability and availability of survey equipment, enabling accurate offshore positioning and survey data acquisition that underpin safe and efficient project execution. Main tasks and responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance of survey systems following the project procedures. Perform calibrations and verifications of survey equipment at regular intervals. Perform corrective maintenance and repairs where needed (e.g. damage, new firmware) Remote or on-board troubleshooting of survey system issues Prepare shipments and coordinate transport of equipment from and to site and suppliers Maintain equipment registration in asset management software system Detailed documentation of performed services and maintenance Write installation-, configuration-, and commissioning reports for survey systems where applicable. Coordinate with the survey assistants for the installation and demobilization of survey equipment. Coordinate with the operations teams to schedule installation and removal of survey systems. Coordinate with pontoon or vessel crews during remote or on-board troubleshooting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, vocational degree, or equivalent experience in Hydrography, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Marine Technology, IT Systems, or Survey Engineering. Strong understanding of hydrographic and marine survey systems, including GNSS, INS, USBL, LBL, multibeam echo sounders, motion sensors, and gyro systems. Experience with the installation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of complex sensor networks and data acquisition systems. Familiarity with marine communication standards and interfaces such as NMEA 0183 / NMEA 2000, Ethernet and TCP/IP, Serial communications (RS232, RS422, RS485), Fibre optic communication systems, CAN bus and other industrial communication protocols Practical experience with computer hardware, Windows-based systems, embedded devices, and network infrastructure. Experience performing firmware updates, software deployment, system backups, and cyber-secure configuration management. Knowledge of sensor calibration, quality assurance, and survey system verification procedures. Methodical and structured approach to work. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently during troubleshooting activities. Service-oriented mindset with a focus on supporting operational survey teams.
