As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Plant Projects department, you will play a key role in developing and implementing major investments in manufacturing equipment. Working with both new machinery and upgrades of existing equipment, you will help deliver robust engineering solutions that improve product quality, safety, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers across Denmark and Brazil, taking projects from concept through implementation while contributing to the continuous development of our global manufacturing capabilities. The Plant Projects department is responsible for delivering major investments in manufacturing equipment across our production facilities. We develop new equipment and execute improvements and refurbishments of existing machinery to support our manufacturing strategy. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your objective is to develop innovative and reliable mechanical solutions for large, technically complex manufacturing equipment. Your engineering expertise will contribute to improving product quality, equipment performance, usability, safety, reliability, and efficient implementation with minimal production downtime. Responsibilities Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for new manufacturing equipment and major refurbishment projects. Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and global stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions. Prepare technical specifications and tender documentation for external suppliers. Review, evaluate, and challenge supplier designs to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and safety requirements. Follow up with suppliers throughout design, manufacturing, testing, and installation phases. Support equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution on site. Independently manage smaller engineering projects from concept through implementation. Perform engineering analyses and data-driven root cause investigations to improve equipment performance and reliability. Ensure technical documentation complies with applicable legislation, engineering standards, and internal requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance, safety, and equipment lifecycle Qualifications Required · M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a strong background in solid mechanics. · Minimum five years of experience in mechanical engineering within advanced manufacturing, industrial equipment, or R&D. · Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and Navisworks. · Experience with structured, data-driven root cause analysis; Six Sigma experience is an advantage. · Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, machine operation, and process stability. · Ability to develop robust mechanical solutions with minimal design iterations. · Experience working in cross-functional project teams and delivering projects on schedule. · Experience supporting implementation and commissioning in manufacturing environments. · Excellent written and spoken English. Preferred · Danish and/or Portuguese language skills. · Experience with project management. · Experience in offshore oil & gas equipment engineering or other heavy industrial machinery. · Experience working in a global matrix organization. · A collaborative mindset with a passion for teamwork and knowledge sharing.
