Senior Estimator | Collen Construction Ireland Home Sectors ProjectsCareers About Latest News Job Description We are seeking a highly driven Senior Estimator to support our preconstruction and bid activities. This role is well suited to an individual who values autonomy and is keen to support a growing region while helping to develop our commercial offering through a broader supply chain. Key Requirements Core Skill Set The ability to work as part of a team to manage the bid from tender enquiry end to final submission Ability to lead all estimating aspects of a tender throughout the bid process Appreciation of clients and their associated client drivers is beneficial Experience 10+ years’ experience in a similar role Education Education equivalent to EQF Level 6 within quantity surveying, however other educational backgrounds will be considered As a member of the estimating team, you will be required to have an open and adaptable approach to developing solutions, together with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will be key member of the preconstruction team, shaping project win strategy. You will work with local resources, regional commercial teams and the estimating department based in Dublin. The role will be based in our Copenhagen Office in Høje Taastrup 2630, working within the estimating department, in the preconstruction division, supporting projects across the European Region. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Estimating Director in Dublin, working closely with the Preconstruction Manager in Denmark, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Managing the tender bid from receipt of tender enquiry to submission of final bid Manage and Co-ordinate a team on large bids Undertaking careful inspection of tender documents including bills of quantities, specifications, contract etc Working closely with the Estimating Team in the preparation of tender enquiries for issue to the market Working within the agreed procurement strategy Collating quotes for comparison and selection for inclusion in the priced tender Conducting risk identification, value management and cost control Meeting with key stakeholders and subcontractors throughout the tender period Developing standard prelim allowances for inclusion in the priced tender Working closely with the Bid and Contracts Managers and wider Operations Team to determine site logistics and prelim allowances Preparing budgets and cost plans in a similar manner to priced tenders Presenting the priced tender to the Board of Directors at adjudication stage Preparing for pre / post tender meetings Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use; and assessing the implications of health and safety regulations The ability to work independently, and prepare tenders while meeting strict deadlines Preparing a project handover file and presenting to the project team Host collaborative workshops with the regional commercial staff, to ensure pricing of work is reflective of the market conditions Other duties Assisting with growing the regional supply chain by meeting suppliers and diversifying our approach to procurement Producing localised benchmark data for projects and packages to assist with pricing verification and trend tracking Other requirements Strong written and spoken English communication skills Danish, Swedish, Finnish or other European language is beneficial Right to work in Denmark preferred.
