Job summary
This is an appointment to the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support acute and elective Colorectal, Peritoneal Malignancy and General surgical services.
The successful candidate will work principally with Mr B Moran, Mr T Cecil, Mr F Mohammed, Mr S Dayal, Mr A Tzivanakis and Mr GH Lee and will provide care to patients with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei and treat selected patients with Colorectal Peritoneal Metastases and/or mesothelioma of peritoneal origin using Cytoreductive surgery and Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy. Hampshire Hospitals is the largest European Centre for these surgical procedures undertaking approximately 400 peritoneal malignancy operations a year.
This appointment will provide cover for and support the expanding service, which has a reputation for high quality patient care, innovation in service delivery and national and international leadership.
The appointed candidate will also work alongside Mr A Venkatasubramaniam, Mr F Di Fabio and Mr S Arnold and will contribute to the delivery of colorectal services on the Basingstoke Site of Hampshire Hospitals.

Training and Qualifications Essential
FRCS or equivalents required Registration with the GMC & licence to practice Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview

Experience & Knowledge Essential
Clinical training and experience in general surgery and peritoneal malignancy Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of peritoneal malignancy patients

CCT or equivalent/advanced level training
Skills & Ability Essential
18 months + experience in colorectal surgery and peritoneal malignancy Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of specialist service Ability to motivate and develop the multidisciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives
Teaching & Audit Essential
Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems Involvement in clinical audits Completion of a significant audit which changed practice Publications in refereed journals
