We are looking to find a passionate, driven pharmacist with solid clinical skills ready to be placed with in our fantastic Hammersmith dispensary base! Whether you are looking for that next step within your career or just want a change, we want to hear from you.
Based in the bustling dispensary at Hammersmith, you'll be at the helm of our inpatient pharmacy's clinical leadership. You'll work amongst our Principal Pharmacist, Chief Technician, and a fantastic team of Pharmacists, Technicians, Trainee Pharmacists, and Assistants.
In your new role, you'll mentor and empower our emerging pharmacists and preregistration trainee technicians within the dispensary, shaping the future of patient care. You will be the go to for any issues and queries from our junior staff, showcasing your clinical or operational expertise.Our Hammersmith dispensary is a thriving hub, with a diverse range of departments including one of Londons leading renal and haematology services.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the provision of a high quality patient focused dispensing service to patients and healthcare professionals of the Trust, associated hospitals and community clinics. To provide clinical and professional leadership on a daily basis to all staff working in the dispensary To support the Chief Technician in the provision of the dispensing service. To ensure service provision is flexible and responsive to patient needs. To ensure the supervision, training and development of the trainee pharmacists and junior pharmacists. Providing mentorship and support to pharmacists and technical staff working in the dispensary. To support, develop, monitor and report the progress of trainee pharmacists and band 6 pharmacists whilst on rotation to the section. To ensure that dispensary practice is in line with local and national guidelines, and all relevant legislation.To ensure that dispensary practice is such that it supports prevailing financial controls. To help audit the service against set standards and assist in the review of service provision.

Person Specification
Education Essential
Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent Member of the GPhC Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent)
Desirable
Appropriate short management courses Diploma in Pharmacy Practice
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities Essential
Demonstrates awareness and commitment to the Clinical Governance agenda Good clinical practice (GCP). Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management. Good ability to use computer systems including pharmacy stock management, medicine labelling systems.
Desirable
Good clinical practice qualification Microsoft office software competence at a basic level (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams). Quality improvement level 2 (practitioner) certificate or equivalent
Experience Essential
This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (e.g. medicines' information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing, clinical pharmacy rotations specialist or otherwise). Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients Demonstrate the use of clinical audit or service evaluation to improve Experience in delivering training and education.
