Working closely with the Security Manager, you will uphold the hospital's security procedures and ensure a professional presence across the site. Key duties include monitoring security procedures, supporting the Security Manager's strategy, welcoming visitors, handling telephone enquiries, and building positive relationships with stakeholders. You'll promote a positive culture, challenge unacceptable behavior, and engage in ongoing professional development. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent security knowledge, problem-solving skills, professional conduct, confidentiality, and prioritization abilities.

Working closely with the Security Manager, you will be responsible for upholding the hospital's security procedures and standards while ensuring a professional and approachable presence across the site. You will play an active role in promoting a positive culture throughout the hospital, demonstrating professionalism at all times and challenging unacceptable behaviour when necessary. As part of your ongoing development, you will participate in regular performance reviews and seek opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Thornford Park is a 141 bed hospital set within 21 acres of Berkshire countryside, offering a seamless care pathway across medium and low secure services, psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs), and rehabilitation flats. The site supports men and women with complex Mental Health needs, Personality Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and Autism—often with histories of offending or previous placement challenges.

Qualifications Essential
Significant previous experience working within a secure environment is desirable. Excellent security knowledge, problem-solving skills, professional conduct, ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize duties, and effective communication abilities are required. Knowledge of computer software programs is also needed.
