Job Description Summary: As the Sommelier, you play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the food and beverage department by advising guests on wine selections, managing wine inventory, and curating wine lists tailored to the venue. Your focus on enhancing the guest dining experience and maintaining a successful wine program contributes to the overall excellence of the property's food and beverage offerings Job Description: Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Provide timely and courteous guest service consistent with the company’s guest service culture
• Advise guests on wine choices based on individual preferences to enhance their experience and drive profitability
• Create and maintain accurate wine lists, and ensure they reflect current inventory and seasonal changes
• Record and manage wine inventory, and communicate any out-of-stock items to management and staff
• Create and distribute training materials and conduct regular wine tastings to educate team members
• Maintain an active floor presence, assisting guests and staff with wine service
• Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
• Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• 2 years of fine dining experience with a focus on wine service
• Advanced knowledge of wine varietals, regions, production methods, and food pairing
• Excellent verbal, written, and group presentation communication skills
• Knowledge of cuisine and wine pairing principles
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
• Committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safety-conscious work environment
Requirements
• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Sommelier certification preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
• Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
• Verify right to work in the United States
