SUMMARY: The Accounting Clerk - Plant is responsible for a variety of accounting-related activities relevant to the plant operations and must have experience in general data entry in Microsoft Office programs with strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. The preferred candidate will have either inventory reconciliation or payroll experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Attain, review and input information daily pertaining to finished goods inventory and product billing for the plant and cold storage facilities for accurate billing, production, and inventory records • Attain, review, and input any information related to plant operations as needed, including but not limited to live receiving, employee sales, various yield data, petty cash, etc. • Responsible for weekly payroll of hourly and weekly salary team members. • Responsible for maintenance and payment of payroll withholdings for outside agencies (garnishments, child support, etc.). • Provide information to the IRS, state agencies, insurance auditors and others as required. • Provide backup for other Accounting Clerks as needed. • Prepare various reports, follow-up detail and summaries pertaining to plant operations and reports for the accounting manager or other facility management upon request. • Provide and assist with preparing any other accounting detail needed by local and/or corporate accounting for various reports, budgets, projects, audits, and inquiries • Keep a running record of instructions for procedures performed for training purposes. • Assist with day-to-day office functions including but not limited to cash sales, mail, bank deposits, petty cash and document scanning and storage. • Responsible for timeliness and accuracy in all areas. • Other office tasks and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Required • High School degree or GED • One year or more clerical experience • Microsoft Office experience. • Strong communication skills both written and oral. Will communicate with all levels of the organization. • Must be flexible, self-motivated, able to problem solve, multi-task and meet deadlines. • Ability to work overtime, holidays, flexible hours, weekends and travel as necessary
• Preferred • Associates degree in accounting • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionality
