The HR Specialist develops, implements and maintains all compensation programs with input from system leaders and has system oversights for HRIS platforms and maintenance of data. Assists in designing wage, salary and other forms of compensation as well as managing the day-today reports and functions for BHS HRIS and compensation programs. Provides consultation to various departments regarding HRIS reports and the value they may provide, in addition to compensation issues. Keeps abreast of current practices of the BHS system as it relates to HRIS and compensation. Interacts with IS and Payroll on a routine basis to ensure quality information is being generated by both for the system. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

General Functions:

• Monitors and ensures that all systems that pertain to HRIS are operating at optimal capacity • Reviews data input and output for reporting accuracy • Monitors and improves data collection and reporting procedures for efficiency • Performs actions and oversees most day-to-day operation of the systems • Demonstrates knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures as they relate to HRIS and compensation • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals • Performs a variety of tasks to accomplish daily functions and exhibits wide degree of creativity and latitude • Assists in developing and maintaining compensation policies, programs, and procedures in conjunction with senior management • Evaluates positions and recommends salary range placement based on job descriptions for positions • Consults with managers in the determination of compensation • Assists in developing educational opportunities to explain compensation policies and practices • Coordinates with payroll, information systems and/or human resources management specialists regarding the processing and implementation of mass compensation adjustments • Demonstrates competence to perform assigned responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of the members served by the Human Resources / Compensation department • Adapts assigned assessment and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific and other developmental needs of each member served by the Human Resource/Compensation department • Assumes responsibility for total compensation in the absence of Director • Conducts audits and analyzes positions, system wide, to ensure that pay practices are maintained and in line with the philosophy and strategy of compensation and the policies of the Baptist Health System • Evaluates the market and economic trends and recommends design changes including, but not limited to salary structure design, market competitive positioning, internal and external equity, and stewardship of financial resources • Conducts studies and compiles reports with recommendations to identify problems and address compensation policies and practices • Responds to requests for salary survey data and completes survey questionnaires • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively • Maintains safe environment • Participates in Performance Improvement activities

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting or other related field/equivalent experience. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 10 or more years’ experience with HRIS and Compensation. Knowledgeable and proficient in all Microsoft products. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Healthcare experience. #LI-JH5
