Role Purpose Independently manage and drive assigned client portfolios with a higher degree of ownership across credit, portfolio monitoring, and client servicing. The role is client-facing, with strong responsibility for credit execution, portfolio management, and active contribution to revenue generation. Job Context
• Operates in a dynamic, performance-driven environment with independent responsibility for portfolio and credit execution.
• Works closely with Relationship Managers, Credit, Operations, and Risk to ensure timely deal processing and portfolio monitoring.
• Balances risk management with revenue delivery through cross-sell and optimization of approved limit utilization.
• Exposure is primarily to Trade & Working Capital clients across parameterized and discretionary lending structures.
• High accountability for portfolio quality, audit compliance, proactive risk identification, and client servicing standards.
Job Dimensions
• Portfolio size: Portfolio of primarily Trade & Working Capital clients.
• RM coverage: Supports at least 2 Relationship Managers.
• Client base: Typically 40–50 clients across the portfolio.
• Client complexity: Mix of parameterized and discretionary lending structures.
• Role span: Independent portfolio ownership with strong credit, monitoring, and client engagement responsibilities.
Key Result Areas (KRAs) 1. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
• Actively engage with clients to understand business needs and support banking solutions.
• Manage client queries, service delivery, and escalations with ownership.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance wallet share and service quality.
2. Revenue Generation & Utilization
• Drive revenue through cross-sell of trade, working capital, liability, and allied products.
• Identify and execute business opportunities within the assigned portfolio.
• Drive and optimize utilization of approved credit limits across the portfolio, aligning with client needs and maximizing revenue contribution.
3. Portfolio Management & Monitoring
• Independently manage and monitor assigned borrowing portfolio including parameterized and select discretionary exposures.
• Ensure end-to-end portfolio hygiene including covenants, documentation, deferrals, audit observations, and timely regularization.
• Track portfolio performance and proactively identify and flag risks or irregularities.
4. Credit & Risk Management
• Independently undertake financial spreading and detailed analysis of financial statements.
• Prepare high-quality, comprehensive credit proposals with strong focus on risk identification and mitigants.
• Own end-to-end quality and submission of credit proposals and engage with Credit for closure of queries.
5. Operational & Process Excellence
• Ensure timely turnaround of credit and service-related deliverables.
• Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancement initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Quality and turnaround time of credit proposals.
• Portfolio quality including overdue control, covenant compliance, timely reviews, and audit observations closure.
• Utilization levels of approved limits in line with portfolio and revenue targets.
• Revenue contribution through cross-sell and portfolio activation.
• Client service quality, responsiveness, and issue resolution turnaround time.
• Maintain portfolio hygiene within defined thresholds, including zero overdue reviews, no audit exceptions, and timely covenant tracking.
• Compliance with credit policies, risk standards, and control requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Strong proficiency in credit analysis, financial assessment, and risk evaluation.
• Extensive experience in high-quality credit proposal writing.
• Ability to independently manage and monitor borrowing portfolios.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• MBA/CA preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years in banking / financial services
