The Welfare and Self-Reliance Services department is a great place to serve. The department strive to follow Jesus Christ in the services it provides by embracing the two great commandments to love God and love our neighbors. The department does this as it: Minister to temporal needs, build spiritual and temporal self-reliance and bless both givers and receivers.
• Plan, coordinate, and counsel with the Welfare Self-Reliance Manager.
• Identify the needs of leaders in stakes and wards.
• Become aware of specific tools and resources that support the unique needs of leaders and members.
• Sustain leaders and their priesthood keys by providing humble and helpful support.
• Facilitate the Bishops order system dealing with placement of orders dealing with any queries.
• Assist Welfare and Self-reliance Managers with training on the Bishop’s order system.
• Provide ongoing loading and support for the PEF and Benson scholarship applicants.
• Support Welfare and self-reliance managers to facilitate the area Welfare and self-reliance plan.
• Must be in possession of a Current Temple Recommend and/or be worthy of one.
• Must be in possession of a three-year degree/diploma in Business Management/Administration or related field.
• Willingness to serve and help others, with good listening, teaching, and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate comfortably in small and large groups.
• Must be familiar with the use remote meeting applications (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) when face-to-face meetings are not possible, and have advanced office skills, highly efficient with computerized business applications (spreadsheets, tables, forms, charts, etc.), and have good research, analytical and data summation skills.
• Must have the ability to keep confidences.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work within a team.
