About this role
Responsible for system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Develop component design and develop system or application architecture. Develop maintainable or scalable, effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Software Engineer-related occupation. * Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL. Troubleshoot complex IT issues for new products including modeling refresh launched to handle online and batch specific transactions. Lead design reviews, produce clear architectural artifacts, and articulate technical trade offs to both technical and non technical audiences. Provide mentorship, support, and guidance to junior engineers through 1-1s and pair programming. Build and iterate software prototypes under tight deadlines. Both heads down coding time as well as active participation in product design, demonstration, testing and support. Experience may be gained during graduate program.
