Herm Ward at Alderney Hospital is a specialist female older people's mental health ward providing high quality, person-centred care for individuals experiencing dementia , behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with mental health conditions. We are currently recruiting Nurses who are passionate about delivering excellent care as part of a supportive and dynamic team.
We are seeking individuals with experience in a mental health setting who can provide confident shift leadership, work collaboratively with colleagues, and bring strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills. A caring, compassionate attitude and the ability to work with initiative are essential.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality person centred approach to caredelivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity.
To undertake assessment of patients / service users careneeds, and develop programmes of care as part of thewider multi-disciplinary care team.
To provide advice to patients/ service users and carersregarding their care.
To plan, implement and review health improvementprogrammes in a range of settings.
Provide supervision, mentorship, and clinical support tostudents and junior staff in the team.

Person Specification
Knowledge, skills and training Essential
Registered Nurse, RMN, or RNLD, with recent experience working with patients with organic mental illness Understanding of ICPA and Risk Assessment and Management of Risk Ability to work with clients who present with challenging behaviour

Previous experience of working with mental health clients in hospital or community setting Understanding of medication management issues Knowledge of NMC code of professional conduct
