Job summary The Leeds Spinal Unit based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust would like to formally invite trainees who are interested to join our long established fellowship programme. The post will be based at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). Successful candidates are expected to commence August 2027 to August 2028. The length of fellowship is 12 months.
Main duties of the job The post is suitable for a committed spinal surgical trainee who wish to obtain extra experience in spinal surgery with interest in clinical research in spinal surgery. The successful candidate will join a department of 12 Specialist Spinal Surgery consultants, two 3-4 specialty trainees, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Interface Spine Fellow in Spinal Surgery - Neuroscience The Spinal Unit in Leeds is a busy regional spinal unit receiving more than 100 new referrals per week covering a population of over 2.5 million. The post-holder will be contributing to the duties of both elective admissions and acute spinal surgery on-call cover including supporting the regional Major Trauma Centre which is based in the LGI.
What you will bring to the role It is planned for the post to be 80% clinical and 20% research. Any candidate who is unavailable, for personal reasons, to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modifications of the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust’s in-consultation. Salary will be the on the appropriate point on the StR payscale
