About this role

Job summary

Permanent, Part time - 22 hours per week

The Admin Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing the administrative and clerical team within Children and Young People's Services (CYPS). The role ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality administrative services that support patient care and enable the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service objectives.

Working closely with the Service Manager, the post holder provides day-to-day leadership, oversees workforce planning, manages staff performance and development, and ensures administrative processes operate effectively across the service. The role also has responsibility for specialist equipment administration, service reporting, data quality, clinic coordination, and maintaining compliance with Trust policies and NHS standards.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, analyse service data, implement improvements, and build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams. They will promote excellent customer service, support continuous service improvement, and ensure the administrative team consistently delivers a responsive, efficient, and patient-focused service.

The Admin Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring our Children and Young Peoples Services run smoothly by leading a dedicated administration team that supports high-quality patient care. Qualifications Essential

BTEC / HNC in Business Admin or related NHS Studies or equivalent level of knowledge Previous training /experience of problem solving, staff management, allocation of workstreams, data validation and reconciliation. NHS management qualification / training

Knowledge of SystmOne / Meditech

Knowledge Essential

Can demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge with regard to management of staff Good working knowledge of IT reporting systems e.g. data bases, interpreting data, Power Bi Understanding of large organisation and an ability to communicate and network Knowledge of the NHS and systems within it

Skills and abilities Essential

Demonstrates an ability to prioritise own workload and responds appropriately to urgent and emergency situations Analyses complex data obtained from several data sources in order to inform decision making and identify errors with data collection methods Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills Produce timely, accurate reports and data Demonstrates leadership in the management of change
