Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our busy, dynamic nursing team in the Emergency Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) .
This is a demanding role that requires dedication and a positive attitude and approach towards change. With emergency care ever changing and evolving this is an exciting opportunity to provide new and innovative health care services to our patients and to help develop the department for the future of emergency services within our Trust.
The successful candidate must have a proven ability in supervising, managing and controlling the activities of a unit in an effective and efficient manner.
You will be a clinical role model and have a willingness to develop the team as well as your own professional growth.
You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike.
There will be the opportunity to work cross site.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work very closely with the Band 7 Senior Nursing team. You will be required to develop strong links with all members of the MDT and assessment areas and ensure that patient care is of the highest standard possible.
In conjunction with the ward/ department manager will oversee the day to day supervision of their ward/ department/team, effectively motivating, and directing staff to ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork.
To ensure that staff have a clear knowledge of their duties and be accountable and of the standards of performance and conduct expected of them during their span of duty.

Experience and knowledge Essential
High level clinical skills and knowledge demonstrated in application form Evidence of successfully co-ordinating, managing and leading the team on a day to day basis. Evidence in being a assessor or supervisor
Desirable
Involvement in Nursing audit and Research. An awareness and understanding of policy and practice relevant to speciality. Evidence of clinical skills relevant to working in an emergency department
Skills Essential
Evidence of excellent communication skills including verbal, non verbal and written. Microsoft office PC, EPR & careflow skills
Education and Training Essential
RN, Operating Theatres RN or Registered ODP. Evidence of Continuing Professional development / qualification relevant to Emergency Care
