About this role
The operator / coach is an operator with technical expertise who guides a team in order to deliver safe, qualitative work with maximum output by training and coaching.
The operator reports to his teamleader. The operator gets functional guidance from the coach within his production area.
How you'll make an impact:
• Carry out production, filling lines, operate the mixers
• Supply and take away materials with forklift truck
• Start up and process control – continue work during shift swap
• Guide change-over + focus on change-over speed
• Report anomalies and problems to the coach
• Carry out minor technical maintenance jobs
• Active leading role in TPM activities and TPM workshops
• Carry out job according to the standard work methods regarding safety, quality, service and productivity
• Maintain 5S in the work area
• Look for improvement opportunities, participate in Lean and problem solving activities
• Focus on unsafe situations in the area through observations, comply with procedures
• Report damages, incidents, near misses, ...
Job competences:
• Monitor smooth and efficient operations within his area
• Monitor the safety and take measures with/ identify unsafe situations
• Internal training for new employees
• Tasks relating to safety and health
• Carry out BBS observations and encourage colleagues
• Comply with safety regulations
• Supervise compliance with the safety rules and correct use of machines, tools and personal protective equipment
• Address colleagues and third parties in case the safety rules are violated
• Initiate improvement suggestions with regard to safety
• Report near-misses, damages or dangerous situations
• Take care of a tidy work place, housekeeping
• Carry out inspections on tidiness and safety, 5S
• Ensure welcoming of temps and new employees
• Carry out specific tasks during emergency situations
Responsible for:
• Realization of planned production efficiency and quality
• Smooth operations within his work area
• Watch over quality of work
Qualifications:
• A2 level or equal through experience
• experience as operator or in similar function, preferably in chemical industry
• Knowledge of various production processes
• Forklift and reach truck certificate
• Complete introduction/safety questionnaire and pass the test
• Able to work in team
• Flexible and positive minded
• Good knowledge of chemical processes and product expertise
• Willing to work in a changing organisation
• Eye for detail and high safety attitude
