Shift / Days: Sat. Sun. Mon. 6:30am - 7pm **All shifts require rotating weekends and call schedule**
General Purpose of Job: Monitors sterilizers and environment for sterilization, and processes instruments and supplies for use and reuse in a safe and timely manner to meet surgical and other patient care needs within the hospital.

• Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times. • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures. • Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines. • Break down and decontaminate instruments following procedure according to protocols. • Set up trays and prepare for sterilization. • Sterilize instruments and supplies according to Operating Room, Central Processing and manufacturer protocols and standards. • Monitors sterilization process and maintains daily, permanent record of sterilization parameters according to hospital protocols and local, state and AAMI. standards. • Maintains a clean environment by following daily cleaning protocol. • Maintains inventory of supplies and instruments. • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • Related hospital experience of minimum of 1 year in care of instruments, equipment or supplies, preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.
• Certification by HSPA preferred
