Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Marketing Assistant to join our growing team in Rochester, NY.
To work closely with the Commercial Lines Department to market accounts to achieve agency sales goals and service standards. Efforts support the production of new business.
How You Will Contribute:
• Assist in the prospecting of new accounts by supporting sales staff as requested, soliciting rounding opportunities, assisting in developing risk potential, and analyzing customer insurance needs.
• Responsible for the marketing of assigned accounts, obtaining and evaluating quotations, and determining and recommending markets.
• Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting criteria, deviations, plans, and marketing policy.
• Know which rates are approved by the respective carriers and be able to explain the rating of any policy.
• Learn and become proficient with various carriers online rating.
• Prepare complete and accurate submissions.
• Prepare and/or modify quotations when required.
• Maintain a task file for proper follow up of outstanding quotation requests.
• Prepare policy orders to the successful carrier, binding, and invoicing as appropriate.
• Where requested, check carrier issued policies for accuracy. Inform carrier and client of forthcoming corrections.
• Utilize agency automation with a high level of knowledge and proficiency.
• Follow procedures as established in the Commercial Lines Procedure Manual.
• Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
Skills & Experience to be Successful: Required:
• High school diploma required.
• Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines' insurance coverage.
• Property & Casualty Agent’s or Broker’s License, required
Preferred:
• College Degree in a business-related field.
• 3+ years general agency/company experience.
Pay Range 36.06 - 40.87 Hourly The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
