The Opportunity We are looking for a Business Consultant to join the EY GDS Consulting Oil & Gas team. As part of EY Consulting, you will lead strategic engagements for downstream oil & gas clients, focusing on operational excellence, digital transformation, strategy and optimization of business process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, gaining exposure to both the business requirements and the technology that enables them. You will leverage deep industry expertise and advanced technologies to deliver data-driven insights, process improvements, and sustainable value creation. Your Key Responsibilities Leadership: <ul> <li>Lead and deliver consulting engagements across the downstream oil & gas value chain.</li> <li>Engage with clients across global geographies, collaborate with EY member firms and internal subject-matter experts, and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships.</li> </ul> Strategy: <ul> <li>Develop and present strategic roadmaps for digital transformation of downstream oil and gas business</li> <li>Define and document new processes, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technology solutions.</li> <li>Leverage data, analytics, IoT, AI/ML, cloud platforms and digital twins to generate insights, improve decision-making and operational performance for oil and gas downstream clients</li> </ul> Consulting: <ul> <li>Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and value creation</li> <li>Mentor and manage consulting teams, build capability within the team, ensure delivery excellence and knowledge transfer.</li> <li>Facilitate organizational change management for digital adoption and capability building.</li> <li>Contribute to EY’s Energy Consulting practice through whitepapers, client workshops, and solution development.</li> </ul> Business Development: <ul> <li>Be responsible for managing downstream Oil and Gas client account(s) and stakeholders across a portfolio of business opportunities and projects</li> <li>Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your network and market insights to drive growth.</li> <li>Shape compelling proposals and thought leadership, positioning the firm as a partner of choice for strategic transformation.</li> <li>Meet individual and team sales and revenue targets.</li> </ul> Skills and attributes for success Must have <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical or equivalent)</li> <li>Approximately 8–13 years of total experience, with a blend of downstream oil & gas industry experience and strong consulting experience.</li> <li>Expertise in downstream oil and gas sector preferably in refinery and petrochemicals industry. Industry experience in LNG/Gas Plant experience will be added advantage</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of downstream oil and gas value chains, business models, business processes, capabilities and technology solutions & vendors (Aspentech, Aveva, Honeywell etc.)</li> <li>Prior working experience in digital transformation for oil & gas business including exposure to IT/OT architecture and framework</li> <li>Familiarity with process simulation, process optimization, asset performance management tools will be added advantage.</li> <li>Experience working with clients to create business and technology strategies, solutions and delivery roadmaps</li> <li>Experience leading business and technology enabled transformation projects within Oil and Gas</li> <li>Proven track record in project delivery, with the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.</li> <li>Strong client and relationship network within the Oil and Gas Industry, and experience developing and owning relationships across the market</li> <li>Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, bringing teams together to achieve common goals in complex environments.</li> <li>Extensive experience managing teams and mentoring talent, contributing to practice growth and capability building.</li> </ul> Good to have <ul> <li>Master’s degree (MBA or related).</li> <li>Experience working with global consulting firms or energy-focused advisory teams.</li> </ul> What we offer you At EY, we’ll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences.
