No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together.</p> <p> </p> <p><a title="" href="https://careers.dukehealth.org/us/en/dhip" target="_self">Duke Health Integrated Practice</a></p> <p> </p> <p>Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina.</p><p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><strong>JOB LOCATION</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span>Duke South Clinics - 40 Duke Medicine Circle</span> </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">We are seeking a <strong>Provider Support Assistant </strong>to perform administrative responsibilities in support of one or more physician(s) and/or advanced provider(s). </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><strong>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Serve as communication link between care providers (faculty, fellows and extenders) and outpatients to include answering calls in division headquarters and returning patient phone calls when appropriate. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Consult with physicians concerning making appointments, messages regarding questions about visit, Rx, referrals, treatment plan, etc. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Establish and maintain liaison between the patient's family and the treating physicians. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Prioritize and resolve inquiries, by phone, email or in person. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Send out updated medical summaries to requesting providers, services or patients. Examples include: medical records to referred specialist, visit notes/letters to referring MD.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Provide patient and family education, how to navigate clinic and how to contact the service. Examples include: New patient information given at time of appointment, i.e. arrival time for appointment, special instructions for appointment, parking, contact information, etc. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Perform other projects to improve the efficiency of clinic/patient care, such as keeping current and organized materials in the division. Examples include: Intake/History forms to be completed prior to visit. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Attend weekly meeting to coordinate patient activities for the week. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Verify the accuracy of providers templates/schedule </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Verify provider requested schedule blocks have been processed </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Monitor provider schedules for a rolling 30 – day period to ensure correctness of schedule, looking for cancellations or erroneous frozen slots, and/or to prevent gaps in schedule. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Must think strategically, juggle provider schedules, prioritize work and ensure that provider templates are accurate and fully utilized. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Works closely, collaboratively, and in partnership with the Scheduling Hub and Front Desk. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Monitor provider emails and respond when necessary and appropriately as directed by the provider. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Provides scheduling support for creation of clinical schedule for their faculty member using Qgenda. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Manage provider calendar:</span> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Schedule and coordinate meeting/teleconferences.
