The Academic Advisor provides appreciative advising, continuous and empathic support, and strategic direction to students in their assigned student group. The annual salary for this position is $49,236.72.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Formulate and execute on-going communication plans to advisees; track student progress using various software platforms and serve as liaison to academic departments/colleges utilizing efficient and effective communication strategies to collaborate as a wrap-around support team for each individual student.</li> <li>Guide students in developing and maintaining a plan of study that meets degree requirements and fits their timetable for graduation.</li> <li>Maintain a consistent pattern of contact to encourage a trusting relationship through multiple channels of communication.</li> <li>Use analytical data to identify students who might be “at risk” for continued academic success and progress to degree to initiate interactions and develop success strategies to address those challenges.</li> <li>Assess when a situation calls for professional intervention or referral.</li> <li>Complete documentation for proper maintenance of student records.</li> <li>Create and maintain relationships with constituents across the institution.</li> <li>Effectively utilize myBLUEprint, Banner, goPFW, Slate, Navigate, and any other associated technology.</li> <li>Serve as liaison to assigned academic departments/units.</li> <li>Attend departmental meetings as desired by academic unit.</li> <li>Act in a symbiotic relationship ensuring effective collaboration and communication.</li> <li>Serve as local expert in academic areas assigned to assure that students understand and engage in successful matriculation through their major area of study.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree</li> <li>One year academic advising or related experience.</li> <li>Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong data and computer skills.</li> <li>Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Collection of advising data, as well as analysis and application of the same.</li> <li>Excellent planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management and customer support skills.
