We would love to hear from you!</span></span></p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Summary/Objective</b></H2> </div><div><p>Oversees implementation of planting, cultivation, growing, harvesting and distribution of tree and shrub seedlings to the public and for use on publicly owned Department and partner lands.</p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Essential Job Duties</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Supervise salaried staff, reviews performance, prepares performance appraisals and recommends corrective action. Assists in the hiring and training of salaried and hourly staff.</li> <li>Plan and organize work team activities including oversight of duties associated with the cleaning of seed, planting, cultivation, harvesting and distribution of seedling trees including processing, inventory, and load/unloading seedlings.</li> <li>Oversee the installation of irrigation lines, the lifting and grading of seedlings, seedling storage, packaging and shipping of orders.</li> <li>Assure the timely completion of administrative responsibilities like completion of time sheets, management of equipment rental contracts, monitoring maintenance contracts, bid management, activity reporting and invoice processing.</li> <li>Assist with budget creation and expenditure.</li> <li>Operate specialized equipment to plant, cultivate, harvest and distribute trees including using forklifts, tractors, pallet loaders, seed planters, etc.</li> <li>Oversee the irrigation of planting beds and apply chemicals including pesticides, fungicides and herbicides as directed to achieve a high quality seedling.</li> <li>Oversee maintenance on assigned work area, roads, public areas and equipment and cleanliness in public areas.
