In this pivotal role, you will own the health of statistical process control systems, lead rigorous risk reviews of abnormal events and changes, and drive structured problem-solving to resolve customer issues with robust, preventative corrective actions. You will act as the voice of the customer to site and business partners, influencing cross-functional teams across Operations, Quality Control, Engineering, and Facilities to adopt a predictive and prevention-first quality mindset. Beyond site-level impact, you will contribute to global quality projects, support new product introductions through comprehensive risk assessments, and collaborate across geographies to benchmark and elevate manufacturing excellence. This role demands deep analytical expertise, resilience in navigating complex challenges, and the ability to translate data-driven insights into meaningful, lasting improvements that protect and advance our customers’ pace of innovation. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline, combined with 10 or more years in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, analytical chemistry, or semiconductor fabrication. Native-level Japanese proficiency with strong written and spoken English; additional language skills in Mandarin, Korean, German, French, or Italian are a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in structured problem-solving, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and influence stakeholders at all levels with positive persistence and resilience. Moderate to Advanced Statistical knowledge (SPC, t-test, ANOVA, single and multivariate statistical modelling) Proficient with data science/statistical software including JMP, Palantir Foundry, and/or visualization tools such as Tableau Python and JSL scripting Experience in quality tools for problem solving (5Whys, segmentation, Model Based Problem Solving), FMEAs, continuous improvement (CI) activities, management of change, and document control systems Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification and ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Certification are preferred.
