You will translate complex threat intelligence into practical, timely action that supports informed decision making and strengthens the safety and resilience of our organisation.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Working closely with frontline teams, senior leaders and external agencies, you will lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of threats that could affect our people, facilities, assets and operations. You will ensure threat management processes are consistently understood, applied and continually improved across the organisation.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">You will maintain strong situational awareness of domestic and international threat environments, producing high quality threat assessments, intelligence briefings and risk reports for senior leadership and operational stakeholders.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Key responsibilities include:</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">• Leading the implementation and ongoing improvement of threat management policies, methodologies and procedures<br>• Assessing current and emerging threats that may affect Auckland Council<br>• Translating intelligence into clear, practical and actionable advice<br>• Producing threat assessments, intelligence briefings and risk reports<br>• Supporting operational decision making, incident response and crisis management<br>• Identifying and managing risks and vulnerabilities affecting staff and council facilities<br>• Integrating threat management practices across security, risk and resilience frameworks<br>• Building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, Police and other external agencies<br>• Promoting consistency, best practice and continuous improvement across Physical Security Advisory Services</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This is a safety sensitive position under Auckland Council’s Drugs and Alcohol Guide. You will be confident working with complex and sensitive information and able to translate intelligence into clear recommendations for senior leaders and operational teams.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">You will bring:</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">• At least seven years of relevant experience in physical security, risk management, intelligence, Police or a related field<br>• A relevant tertiary qualification in security, intelligence, risk management, criminology or a related discipline<br>• Extensive experience in threat management or security risk management<br>• Experience working within government, law enforcement or critical infrastructure environments<br>• A strong understanding of national security frameworks and public sector environments<br>• Proven experience managing highly complex and sensitive matters<br>• The ability to anticipate emerging threats and operate effectively in ambiguous environments<br>• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating with external agencies<br>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior executives<br>• Strong relationship management and cross functional engagement skills<br>• Resilience and composure when responding to incidents or emergencies<br>• A high level of discretion, integrity and professionalism<br>• A current full New Zealand driver’s licence</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Experience in crisis management, incident response or security planning would be an advantage.</span></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"> </p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><strong><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This is an opportunity to undertake meaningful and influential work within one of New Zealand’s largest and most complex organisations.
