About this role

The Associate Remediation Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery of document accessibility and remediation projects, ensuring digital content is inclusive and aligned with accessibility standards. The role focuses on developing foundational expertise in remediating PDFs and other document formats in accordance with WCAG 2.1/2.2, while contributing to global clients’ compliance with accessibility regulations such as the ADA, ACA, and the EAA. Responsibilities: • Support the remediation of PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and other digital formats using accessibility best practices • Apply basic tagging, reading order, alternative text, and structural elements in line with WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards • Perform initial quality checks using automated tools and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA) • Create and edit alternative text for standard images and non-text elements • Assist in remediating structured content such as tables, lists, and simple forms • Prepare and organize source files (e.g., Word, PowerPoint) to support remediation workflows • Utilize accessibility tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, PAC) to identify and resolve issues under guidance • Support project delivery by adhering to timelines, guidelines, and quality expectations • Collaborate with internal teams (Project Management, Quality, Sales) to ensure clarity of requirements • Track assigned tasks and provide status updates to stakeholders • Escalate issues or blockers in a timely manner • Contribute to documentation and reporting of accessibility compliance • Stay up to date with accessibility standards and tools, actively building knowledge and skills • Complete all other tasks deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by supervisor/leadership
