Job summary
This is a one-year medical oncology clinical fellowship, conducting projects focused on clinical research (Gynaecology cancers). The research will be a mixture of clinical and translational research and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop strong links with one of the ICR laboratories and clinician scientists/scientists that the Gynaecology unit work in collaboration with. There are a number of ongoing clinical research projects across the disease areas and the Gynaecology unit has a strong track record of success in students successfully completing their projects, publishing, presenting internationally, developing their own research and clinical profile.
Main duties of the job
Develop clinical research skills in order to propose, design and develop academic institutional and/or multicentre clinical trials with support from the consultants and experienced statisticians and trial managers working within the Gynaecology unit Develop grant writing skills for peer reviewed funding and/or endorsement of academic clinical and translational studies. This includes understanding how to appropriately cost a study and attribute the costs of healthcare research as required by major research funders Develop skills to design translational research protocols in collaboration with clinician scientists and statisticians

MRCP or equivalent Full registration and license to practice with the General Medical Council

Higher Degree (MD/PHD)
Experience Essential
Previous NHS Experience Experience in the management of cancer patients including chemotherapy. Training at specialist registrar level.

Experience of clinical trials and management of patients on clinical trials.
