About this role

Job summary

Cohese Healthcare (formerly known as GP Care) is a well established and innovative social enterprise working with the NHS to provide high quality diagnostic and treatment pathways, within local communities.

As part of our NHS provision, we are commissioned to provide DVT services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG ICB) Monday - Saturday and Swindon Tuesdays and Thursdays (subject to change).

We are looking for a registered nurse to join our DVT nursing team on a bank/casual basis to support our Swindon clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additional hours may be available in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

This is a great opportunity to grow or develop new skills in a supportive clinical environment. Experience in a similar service would be welcomed, but it is not essential, as we will provide full training and support.

We would also welcome applications from candidates with a qualification in non-medical prescribing, but this is not essential.

Main duties of the job

Working to our agreed DVT Treatment protocols, the DVT Nurse (DVTNs) will be responsible for the initial nursing assessment and subsequent education and care of patients with confirmed DVT or inconclusive scans. The post holder will recognise the impact of a diagnosis of DVT on each patient and ensure information is given in a manner and timely way that patients can understand, giving time for questions.

About us

Cohese Healthcare provides diagnostic and treatment clinics for thousands of patients each year in various health care locations across Bristol, Gloucestershire and Swindon. The majority of our one stop services are commissioned by the NHS, and we also provide a self paying minor surgery service.

Cohese Healthcare's community DVT service has been running since 2006 and our services were highly commended by the nationally respected Health Service Journal in 2025.

We are committed to providing high quality, effective healthcare services and aim to provide innovative services that are valued by patients, referring clinicians, commissioners and secondary care colleagues alike.

Patient feedback is outstanding, and our staff tell us that Cohese Healthcare is a great organisation to work for.
