Main duties of the job

Deliver a broad range of nursing services, including adult and childhood immunisations, wound care, cervical screening, and travel health advice. Lead highquality management of longterm conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and COPD, supporting patients to achieve better health outcomes. Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide seamless, patientcentred care. Champion health promotion and preventative care across the practice, providing clear, supportive responses to patient queries and educational needs to help patients make informed choices about their wellbeing. Maintain meticulous, confidential clinical records in line with practice policies and professional standards. Contribute to ongoing service development by actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas for improvement.

The Village Surgery is a supportive, wellestablished practice made up of General Practitioners, a dedicated Nursing Team, and experienced administrative and reception staff. We provide care to approximately 9,600 patients across our two sites. Our practice operates from South Normanton and Pinxton Surgery, with staff working across both locations. Job description Job responsibilities

As an experienced Practice Nurse, you will play a central role in delivering high quality, patient focused care across a wide range of clinical services. Your work will include long term condition management for patients with diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension, alongside running competent and well organised vaccination clinics for both childhood immunisations and adult vaccinations, including travel health. You will provide compassionate cytology and swab appointments, deliver wound and ulcer care with Doppler assessments, remove clips and sutures, and manage referrals where appropriate. Additional responsibilities include undertaking urinalysis, ECGs, venepuncture, and ear syringing as part of routine patient care.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Registered Practice Nurse with a minimum of two years experience working within general practice.

Qualifications Essential

Demonstrates competence in the management of at least one long term condition (asthma, COPD, or diabetes). Confident and experienced in delivering childhood immunisations. Proficient in administering adult injections and vaccinations, including uncertain or incomplete immunisations. Strong wound care skills, including stitch and clip removal.

Desirable

Qualified cervical sample taker. Completion of a recognised two day travel health course. Experience in ear irrigation. Ability to perform ABPI Doppler assessments.
