Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Clinical Support Worker to join the Community Response Service based in Hexham on a full time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join a busy and dynamic community team, working to deliver rehabilitation programs to clients in their own homes.
The Community Physiotherapy West Northumberland team comprises of Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Clinical Support Workers who offer assessment and rehabilitation to support clients who may have experienced a short-term illness or a temporary deterioration in an existing condition.
The successful candidate would work alongside qualified Physiotherapists who would devise rehabilitation programs to be delivered by the Clinical Support Workers. They would also carry a non-complex caseload of their own which may include equipment provision to aid client independence.

Main duties of the job
To carry out delegated duties, contributing to the planning / maintenance and development of the Physiotherapy Service and acting as a valuable resource to other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Job description Job responsibilities
The Physiotherapy Clinical Support Worker role is to complete new assessments for clients requesting review of walking aids and provision of equipment to promote independence within the home, they also support Therapists with rehabilitation programmes for clients at home.
To communicate information and advice to service users, carers, families, agencies and providers and professional colleagues verbally and in written form, using information technology appropriately.
To provide written and electronic reports, providing details of assessments and recommendations.
To make recommendations and facilitate the implementation and provision of assistive equipment and minor adaptations.
Fit assistive devices, equipment within competency banding with a degree of accuracy and expertise using hand-eye co-ordination. This may be undertaken in restrictive conditions i.e. clients home environment.
Ability to support Therapists with moving and handling duties.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Level 3 RQF or equivalent skills/experience Level 2 Functional Skills or Level 3 Apprenticeship such as Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship
Experience and Knowledge Essential
To have relevant knowledge of disability and a range of long-term conditions Experience of working with adults in a health and social care setting
Desirable
Previous experience as Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Technical instructor or other allied health professions support worker
Other Requirement Essential
It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role
