Main duties of the job As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you'll use your leadership skills to ensure residents receive the quality care we are known for. You'll be a hands-on clinical leader, creating a safe and supportive environment for residents with mental and physical needs. Critical clinical decisions will rely on your professional judgment, from assessing new resident needs to implementing safeguarding and administering medicines in line with NMC regulations. You'll support and mentor your team, ensuring they undergo the clinical training needed to maintain high nursing standards. As a Senior Nurse (General), you are afforded the freedom to do things the right way and be valued and respected. To qualify, you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration and possess a mentoring or supervision qualification. Experience in producing care plans, risk assessments, and a current understanding of clinical practices is necessary. An understanding of frameworks like DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines is also required.

ABOUT YOUTo join us as a Senior Nurse (General), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. We'll also look for an understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. You'll be a natural leader and problem solver who has worked with older people and acted as a clinical mentor, including supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship.
