About this role

Job summary

Haverhill Family Practice is looking for a part-time salaried GP to work for our friendly, busy, town-centre practice, to cover maternity leave for between 9 to 12 months. The salaried GP is responsible for providing medical care and services to the practice population, managing a clinical caseload and dealing with a diverse range of health needs.

Main duties of the job

This will include, but is not limited to:

Face to face and telephone consultations (including e-consult) Home visits Administration Complying with the practices contracts (PMS/enhanced services) Education and training of junior/trainee clinical staff Practise evidence-based medicine, in line with national and locally agreed guidelines Conduct patient consultations during the practices clinical appointment hours Undertake duty consultations on a rota basis Triage patients presenting to the practice in person, by telephone and E-Consults Check and sign repeat prescription requests Check, manage and process patient test results Prescribe in line with local and national guidelines

Qualifications Essential

Fully qualified GP with GMC registration Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate) Be on the NHSE medical performers list

All applicants should have the following skills and experience: Essential

Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services; Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date; Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety; Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
