Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join the Oncology and Haematology Service within the Heulwen Unit.

The post will be based in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a band 6 Specialist Practitioner to join our team. Our Acute oncology & triage service currently operates 5 days a week for Cancer patients on treatment with a vision of extending this to 7 days a week. Our Triage line is available 24/7 for telephone advice for patients on cancer treatment. The team provides expert advice to oncology and haematology patients to ensure early recognition of potential emergencies, treatment complications and the provision of a follow-up structure.

The Assessment unit provides a clinical area for nursing and medical staff to assess and monitor patients and deliver prompt quality care.

We are looking for an experienced registered nurse with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is keen to learn and take on new clinical skills. Previous experience is essential and we require good assessment skills and clinical decison making. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and professional person to delivery high standards of care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
