Job summary
The role is is a Health Care Assistant / GPA role. The successful candidate will be working within a nurse and HCA team of 6 nurses and 3 HCAs. The practice is a large practice based in Sandbach Cheshire.
The role will be a fixed 37 hour post ideally over 5 days. How these hours are spread out over the week is negotiable.
Main duties of the job
To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.The role of the GP Assistant is to provide both clinical and administrative support to our wider team of GPs.The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification with experience in clinical duties such as venepuncture, urine analysis, taking blood pressure etc, as well as feeling comfortable working on administrative tasks.

Blood Pressure recording and referral to GP if applicable Collection of specimens Urinalysis and pregnancy testing Height and weight measurements Assisting in minor surgery and vasectomy clinics ECG recording Simple dressings Acting as a Chaperone as required Stocking consultation rooms Assisting with the maintenance and calibration of medical equipment Foot health screening for diabetes New patient and NHS health checks Chronic Disease Reviews Smoking cessation advice Involvement in Quality Improvement Projects Providing the practice support in achieving QOF targets Maintenance of patient records Ad-hoc support during GP clinics for taking observations / specimen samples Providing administrative support to GPs in the form of supporting completion of medical forms and reports Ensure reviews are arranged as per practice protocols Ensure accurate coding of data on EMIS Maintenance of accurate patient records Involvement in health promotion projects
