Business Support Officer - 12 month fixed term contract

This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Officer to provide high-quality, efficient and confidential business, operational and administrative support to the Strategic Lead - Multi-agency Escalations for an innovative, system-wide pilot that will transform how children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and social needs are supported in South Staffordshire.

In the role you will support the Strategic Lead through the coordination, collection, validation, analysis, and presentation of operational, activity and performance information to support service monitoring, reporting, planning, and continuous improvement.

This includes monitoring key performance indicators, validating information from multiple systems, identifying data quality issues, waiting list pressures, recording compliance concerns, or performance exceptions, and raising or escalating concerns appropriately with managers and staff in accordance with Trust procedures and service requirements.

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive business support to the Strategic Lead, including the extraction, validation, monitoring, and presentation of performance and operational information to support key performance indicators, service monitoring, compliance, supervision, and forward planning. Extract, collate, and interpret information from a range of systems, including patient information systems, to support reporting requirements and operational processes, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information at all times. Assist in the preparation of reports, dashboards, audits, and presentations for operational and governance purposes. Support the collation and preparation of evidence and documentation for regulatory, audit, and assurance purposes, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements Contribute to the review and development of local procedures, administrative processes, and working practices to support service improvement and effective service delivery.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

NVQ Level 3 Business Administration (or equivalent level of experience) OCR/ RSA III or equivalent experience Advanced computer literacy/skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).

Desirable

BTEC Diploma in Business Administration

Experience Essential

Significant experience in administration duties. Previous experience of setting up office/ administrative systems Experience of collecting, validating, analysing, and reporting performance or operational information using electronic systems and spreadsheets.. Ability to plan, schedule and organise day to day work. Experience of supporting digital systems, reporting processes, or service improvement initiatives.

Desirable

Experience in the NHS or similar public sector environment. Knowledge/Experience of NHS Systems Experience of supporting projects
