The Opportunity:

Carries out a range of complex scientific support tasks at customer facilities, requiring significant interpretation of technical/scientific protocols to support research objectives effectively. Solves intricate research support and technical challenges independently, drawing on a deep understanding of laboratory techniques, experimental design, and past experiences to inform judgments and decisions. Supports nucleic acid workflows, performs DNA/RNA extraction and preparation for sequencing, and/or maintains and expands cell and tissue cultures, supporting R&D and production workflows. Collects, documents, and organizes data and observations, ensuring clarity and accessibility for review and analysis by research teams. Collaborates extensively with internal scientific support teams and customer contacts, facilitating communication and understanding across disciplines to meet customer's needs.QC Support Technician

About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QC Support Technician to provide essential laboratory support services at our client's site in Nijmegen. This role is critical in ensuring Quality Control (QC) laboratories operate efficiently, allowing QC analysts and scientists to focus on analytical testing and quality-related activities.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of laboratory operations, including environmental monitoring, laboratory preparation activities, equipment maintenance support, housekeeping, waste management, inventory coordination, and safety inspections. Working within a GMP-regulated environment, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, safety, and customer service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory support work and wants to play an important role in supporting critical scientific operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform environmental monitoring sampling activities. • Prepare laboratory cleaning solutions and media plates. • Clean and maintain Laminar Air Flow (LAF) cabinets. • Perform pH meter calibration activities. • Carry out glassware washing, preparation, and storage activities. • Support laboratory housekeeping, readiness, and organization initiatives. • Manage laboratory waste collection, handling, and disposal activities. • Conduct routine safety inspections, including eyewash stations and emergency showers. • Assist with inventory management, material movement, and laboratory supplies coordination. • Provide cross-functional support to QC, laboratory operations, and other site departments as required. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory efficiency and service delivery. • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with SOPs, GMP/GxP requirements, safety standards, and compliance procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum secondary education qualification, including English, Mathematics, and Science (or equivalent). • Previous laboratory support, scientific, operational, or service-based experience is preferred. • Experience working within a GMP-regulated laboratory environment is advantageous.

Knowledge & Experience

• Good understanding of laboratory processes and workflows. • Knowledge of GxP compliance requirements within a laboratory environment. • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe laboratory working practices. • Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and controlled documentation. • Understanding of customer service principles, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). • Experience with Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices such as Tiered Daily Management, Standard Work, or Kaizen is advantageous. • Experience working to GMP standards is preferred.

Working Environment This role is based within a laboratory and operational support environment and may involve:

• Environmental monitoring and laboratory support activities. • Manual handling activities. • Waste handling and disposal. • Working with laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials. • Driving a site delivery vehicle. • Working within warehouse, storage, or laboratory support areas. • Working at height using approved mobile safety step ladders when required.
