About this role
Eng Sr Prin II - Sys
Job Description: See what you’re missing. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too.
Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our mission: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE Systems.
Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. We welcome all those who have big ideas, crave innovation, want to drive fielding velocity and have the passion to bring the warfighter home safe. We are seeking systems engineers experienced in modeling and simulation environments to develop, build, and work on the world’s most advanced electromagnetic spectrum operations systems – detecting, identifying, locating, and countering threats for joint forces and international aircrew. We develop highly sophisticated digital Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and we are looking for motivated systems engineers to join cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams developing and supporting next generation systems. This is an opportunity to be at the cutting edge of the ES Sector “Accelerate” imperative!
With a 9/80 schedule, and every other Friday off, our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.
In this job, you will:
• Lead a team to execute modeling and simulation.
• Perform modeling and simulation for the conceptual design of EW systems to predict system level performance at the algorithm and the hardware level.
• Determine the functional architecture / framework of EW system performance models.
• Develop performance models of EW systems to be incorporated into a modeling & simulation framework.
• Perform analyses against system performance requirements to verify compliance and/or make recommendations about proposed requirements changes.
• Build a strong linkage between the actual hardware/emulators and performance models.
• Validate work against real and simulated data – making corrections for non-ideal data artifacts.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and business areas to develop performance models with right-sized fidelity.
• Support program gates such as preliminary design review, critical design review, and technical interchange meetings.
• Prepare presentations and documents.
• Brief internal stakeholders, internal subject matter experts, and potentially customers.
• Build collaborative relationships with key leaders and peers, both internally and externally, across the ECS organization.
