Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring an engineer to join our Structures/Bridges Department. In this role, you will perform a variety of bridge and structural design work including preparation of planning studies, alternative analyses, structure type selections, plans, estimates, and reports for bridges and structures related to transportation and development projects. This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position. Performing bridge and structural design tasks under the guidance of senior engineers. Preparing and checking engineering calculations, quantities, and cost estimates. Developing structural analysis models and interpreting results for design decisions. Supporting preliminary layouts, planning studies, basis of design documentation, and structure type selection reports. Assisting with the preparation of plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates. Coordinating drawings, exhibits, and plan development with drafting staff and other disciplines. Participating in field reviews and site inspections for existing structures and proposed project sites. Reviewing shop drawings, contractor submittals, and other construction-related documentation. Providing technical input for reports, proposals, and project documentation. Communicating progress, identifying design issues, and working collaboratively with the project team.
