Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a project engineer to join our Land Development Department. We are seeking someone that enjoys a variety of civil engineering projects performed on behalf of private and public sector clients. Under direction, a Project Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering tasks and acts as a supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or technical support staff. A project engineer may serve as a project manager on a single major, or several minor, engineering project(s). This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position. While there is no typical day when you are managing projects and employees, there are a few things you can count on: Performing or guiding the technical analysis of the project(s) assigned. Make sound decisions on technical problems and methods related to the work being performed based on established engineering principles and guidelines, and supervisory guidance. Assess project requirements, define objectives and constraints, develop budgets, perform feasibility studies, manage staff, providing training and outside presentations as needed. Develop project schedules, set milestones, and coordinate tasks to ensure that projects are completed on time. Monitoring project progress status, compliance with approved scope, and act as the point of contact for inquiries regarding the project. Reviewing proposed changes for impact on the project design, budget, or schedule. Preparing reports and presentations that provide raw technical data in a concise and comprehensible manner.
