Design Southeast Michigan's Future From a Pretty Cool Office MSG is growing, and we're looking for a motivated Civil Design Engineer with 0-2 years of experience and solid Autodesk Civil 3D skills to join our Detroit, MI office — which, fair warning, has serious industrial character. You'll support engineers and project managers in producing civil/site design plans, reports, and calculations for municipal infrastructure and private development projects across the region — real technical work that builds real skills, not busywork. Over six months, you'll take part in a hands-on curriculum covering professional development, business acumen, and project delivery — including case studies, simulations, and role-play exercises — covering topics like project economics, communication, and leadership fundamentals. It all wraps up with an in-person capstone event where you'll present your work and map out your goals for the year ahead. Your Future Starts With A Plan. Develop design drawings and plans using Autodesk Civil 3D, including: Site grading Alignments and profiles Surfaces and corridors Utility layouts Storm sewer and sanitary sewer networks Prepare components of engineering packages such as: Construction drawings Quantities and cost estimates Drainage calculations and reports Permit submittals Assist senior engineers and project managers with: Technical analysis Project coordination Quality control reviews Scheduling and task planning Get out of the office for periodic field visits — site assessments, measurements, and construction support Make sure every deliverable meets municipal, county, and state standards
