Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to large and small Water, Sewer and Utility Districts; Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a Transportation Engineer (I/II) to help serve our connection of clients and community. The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. Assist in the design and development of transportation projects including roadways, intersections, pedestrian facilities, and traffic improvements. Prepare engineering drawings, plans, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D). Perform basic to intermediate engineering calculations, including horizontal/vertical alignments, grading, drainage, quantities, and traffic control layouts. Support preparation of project documents such as cost estimates, technical reports, design summaries, and bid packages. Conduct field visits to support data collection, condition assessments, surveying coordination, or construction observations. Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions and ensure project quality. Assist with preparation of MoDOT, LPA, or municipal submittals and ensure adherence to applicable design standards and guidelines. Review and interpret topographic surveys, geotechnical reports, environmental documents, and utility data. Participate in coordination with clients, utility companies, and permitting agencies as needed. Contribute to internal QA/QC processes, documentation, and design reviews.
