About this role
You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules and routes of truck drivers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to think quickly under pressure. The dispatcher will work closely with drivers, clients, and logistics teams to optimize routes, manage schedules, and address any issues that arise during transit. Coordinate truck drivers’ schedules and routes. Plan and optimize routes for efficiency. Communicate with drivers and provide route updates. Serve as the point of contact for clients on delivery status. Resolve issues related to delays, breakdowns, or weather. Monitor driver progress via GPS tracking systems. Ensure compliance with trucking regulations and safety standards. Maintain accurate dispatch records and trip details. Minimize logistics costs and downtime. Manage emergency situations like accidents or breakdowns.
