Salary: £67,000 - 107,000 per year
Requirements: We strongly prefer a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or a degree-level qualification in computer science or software engineering.We require 5+ years of C/C++ development experience.We require 2+ years of embedded Linux application development experience.We highly value experience with embedded Linux platform development such as Yocto or Buildroot.We highly value Python 3+ development experience.We highly value experience with CI/CD.We highly value experience with Git source control.We welcome a personal passion or interest in the marine industry or boating.We welcome experience with CMake.We welcome experience with Angular 11+ or similar front-end technologies including TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.We welcome experience with MQTT.We welcome Azure Cloud experience.We welcome experience with CAN bus.We welcome experience with RTOS and bare-metal microcontroller development. Responsibilities: We develop and maintain our Linux-based application software.We represent the highest technical competency in embedded Linux C/C++ development.We leverage our software development experience to lead development projects.We contribute to technical architecture and roadmaps.We foster and improve best practices across the team.We support and mentor more junior Software Engineers.We make an immediate impact by helping develop and maintain our Seakeeper and Seakeeper Ride products.We work within an Agile workflow and contribute to a variety of projects and systems across our software engineering team. Our Software Engineering team sits within our Product Engineering department and works in a dynamic, flat, high-profile Agile environment focused on world-class Linux-based system management and user interface functionality. This role is based in the UK, ideally in or around the Greater Poole/Bournemouth area, with onsite work required for a minimum of 10 days per month at your local office and travel up to 10% as needed.
