Salary: £50,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements: Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related discipline.Strong experience in functional testing within Agile/Scrum environments.Experience testing embedded systems, communications products, networking, IoT or similar technologies.Knowledge of structured test design techniques and exploratory testing.Experience with test automation tools and scripting using Python, C# or similar.Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps or other test and defect management tools.Strong debugging, defect investigation and problem-solving skills.Experience with telecoms, RF, networking protocols or communications devices.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.ISTQB certification. Responsibilities: Design, develop and execute functional test cases for embedded software, devices and APIs.Perform manual, exploratory and automated testing throughout the development lifecycle.Investigate defects, analyse logs and system traces and work closely with developers to resolve issues.Maintain and develop test strategies, test plans and regression testing approaches.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.Contribute to test automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce regression effort.Provide clear reporting on test progress, risks and quality metrics. We are based just north of Cambridge in CB25 and are offering a permanent Functional Test Engineer position within our Agile software development team. The role is primarily office-based, with a 37-hour week and an early finish on Fridays. We work on complex embedded communication and connectivity products, and we are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive test professional with excellent communication skills, a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering high-quality products in a collaborative Agile environment. The salary is £50,000 to £65,000 depending on experience.
