Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a controls-based qualificationAbility to develop and design code for PLCs and HMIsAbility to read and understand electrical and control schematicsGood project management and problem-solving skillsAbility to contribute ideas and new concepts to improve our products Responsibilities: Develop and maintain our range of equipment using Allen Bradley PLCs Micro800, CompactLogix, and associated HMIs by writing well-structured PLC/HMI codeCreate function blocks in structured text and ladder logic, and carry our intuitive HMI style across all platformsWork with senior management to develop a clear control philosophy and, when agreed, a detailed FDS, leading to clear, concise software and maintained documentationUnderstand how to integrate systems into customers overall control systems using Ethernet and Modbus protocolsHelp troubleshoot software and hardware issues in the test department when requiredReport, communicate, and work with other departments as part of a teamPlan and manage our own projects and work packagesCommission and start up larger special projects when service needs assistanceProvide Tier 3 software support to colleagues and customers when requiredDevelop new PLC control system designs and maintain current software using electrical schematics and control philosophy/FDSTest electrical, electronic, and control systemsProduce detailed design and programming for Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIsCarry out on-site commissioning of special projects when requiredReceive training to enhance software development skills Technologies: EthernetHardwareSupportPLC More:
We are recruiting for a Controls Engineer based in the Slough area. This role offers the opportunity to work on PLC control system design, software development, testing, and commissioning across a range of equipment and special projects.
