About this role

Salary: £33,000 - 69,000 per year

Requirements: We require 5 years of experience.We require a relevant academic background, for example a Physics degree.We require directly relevant experience assembling, integrating, and testing complex optical assemblies or systems.We require a proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a hands-on lab environment.We require willingness and ability to travel internationally to support customer deployments and field activities.Desirable: experience with laser communications or free-space optics.Desirable: precision optical alignment and optomechanical assembly experience.Desirable: experience transitioning products from prototype to serial production.Desirable: experience in the space, photonics, or aerospace industry.Desirable: experience with continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimisation. Responsibilities: We support the serial production, assembly, integration, and testing of our TERRA-M Optical Ground Station products and associated optical subsystems.We assemble, integrate, and test optomechanical subsystems and assemblies.We support system-level integration and testing of optical ground stations.We develop ground support and test equipment.We manage ordering and oversee outsourced components.We test and accept outsourced components.We maintain inventory.We ensure quality and documentation of build processes.We collaborate with the engineering team to improve manufacturing processes and resolve technical challenges.We support field maintenance, deployment, and installation of new systems, including international travel as needed.
