Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year
Requirements: Proven experience in Linux system administration covering platforms such as RHEL, Ubuntu, or CentOS.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation tasks.Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.Experience with monitoring, logging, and virtualisation technologies such as VMware, KVM, Nagios, Prometheus, or Splunk.Familiarity with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills under pressure.An active eDV clearance (Green Badge) and readiness to work high side.Willingness to work on-site 4 to 5 days per week.Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.Knowledge of identity management systems such as LDAP and DNS, and security frameworks is desirable.Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments is desirable.Professional certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux are desirable.A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is desirable. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support secure, resilient Linux-based infrastructure environments.Manage, maintain, and optimise Linux servers across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure high availability.Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and operating system-level issues, conducting thorough root cause analysis.Manage system patching, security updates, backups, and disaster recovery processes.Implement security best practices, including system hardening, access control, and vulnerability management.Support deployment processes, migrations, and new software releases while maintaining meticulous documentation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related incidents.
