We are seeking an experienced and motivated mechanical engineer for Plumbing Design to join our amazing design team! The ideal candidate will have some experience in plumbing and piping design, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to projects and collaborate with fellow engineers from various disciplines. The Plumbing Designer will report directly to the Plumbing and Fire Protection Team Manager.
Plumbing Designer Priorities
• Assist in the design of plumbing systems for projects in a variety of industries
• Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies
• Coordinate internally with the plumbing, electrical and mechanical engineering, and design teams
• Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review and inter-discipline cross-checking.
• Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently
What You Need
• Minimum Associates or Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction or similar
• Experience in mechanical, plumbing or fire protection systems design required
• Experience using Revit 2018 software or newer (post-school experience)
• Knowledge or willingness to learn building and energy codes, and working with Water/Sewer Authorities and Local Municipalities
• Propensity for Critical Thinking to problem solve and develop skills
• Effective Verbal and Written Communications skills.
